Key words for analysing a magazine cover :
Describe the various elements on the cover / their place / the font / the colour / the layout
- The writing : issue number / price / logo / frequency / date / lead news / the content / buzz words / on the left-hand side /
The magazine identity
- The image / illustration
What role does the illustration play on the front page ?
To grab the audience attention = to attract people’s attention
To tempt potential readers
To promote and sell the magazine
How does it get your attention ?
Clear / Eye-catching / to draw the attention eye / It makes the letters stand out / contrast / professional look
Who is this magazine to appeal to? Who is the target audience? Who is this magazine trying to reach?

Creative Commons licenses give everyone a standardized way to grant the public permission to use their creative work under copyright law.
Don’t forget to give the credit to the creator.
Step 4 : imagine and create an art magazine cover focused on your glass designer
Pay attention to :
- follow the rules and conventions of an art magazine cover ;
- advertise lots of interesting stories about your glass designer that readers will find inside ;
- attract people’s attention.
Tool : Canva
Step 5 : orally you will have to
- Describe thoroughly your cover and justify your choices
- Develop your headlines
- Pay attention to the pronunciation of keywords
- Pay attention to the rhythm of your sentences (intonation of the word, the sentence, pause when necessary)
- Pay attention to grammar (syntax, tenses)
- Keep the eye contact
- Be convinced and therefore convincing
Your oral should last between 7 and 15 minutes, it has to be fluid, professional, interesting and challenging.
Bilan : Les étudiants ont bien adhéré au projet. Cette séance a fait écho à leur cours sur la communication. La plupart avait déjà utilisé Canva donc la prise en main n’a pas posé de problème. Les séances 3 et 4 n’ont pas pu avoir lieu à cause de la fermeture des établissements puis du départ en stage des élèves. Ils ont donc fini leur couverture à distance et nous l’ont envoyée par mail.
