A DAY OUT AT JEAN MONNET'S HOUSE IN BAZOCHES SUR GUYONNE

March 12th, 2015 euro section classes first and second year

Impressions written by the euro section first year students

The departure

We met at 8:30 at the highschool. We got jammed in the rue de la Bidassoa, helpful people made it possible for the bus to be on its way.

The trip

It was a 1-hour trip. On the way : we enjoyed the scenery (paysages) , the nice countryside : from an urban countryside to the rural countryside. A nice car overtook us. (a very nice car says Sri). There was a castle.

The arrival

The path leading to the founding
father of Europe's house.

We arrived at 10:20, the house of Jean Monnet is a small and nice house, an ancient farm : a thatched-roof cottage (une maison au toit de chaume) with two floors (but we didn't go upstairs). We met a guide, Mrs Recher, she welcomed us and she made us visit the house, she told us the home before was a farm. We started the visit with the living room, after she showed us the dining room and then the bedroom. The house also has a big garden.
