Context

At Dorian, we offer 8 undergraduate certification options (BTS):

•  Certificate in Digital Systems with concentration in Electronics and Communication

•  Certificate in Digital Systems with concentration in Information Technology andNetworks

•  Certificate in Standardisation of Mechanical Products

•  Certificate in Industrial Design

•  Certificate in Design and Production of Automated Systems

•  Certificate Topographical Surveying

•  Bachelors Degree in City Planning, Environment and Geomatics It is important to specify that the “BTS” certificate corresponds to a 2-year program, while the

Bachelors Degree comprises a full 3-year “License,” and as such consists in the 180 European credit hours (ECTS) required by this type of degree. Finally, note that the first six programs listed belong to two technical sectors relating to electronics, one being Digital Systems and the other Mechanics and Automation. Meanwhile the last two programs listed belong to the professional sector of topographic surveying.

Objectives

Our bid to enroll our 8 higher education courses in Erasmus Programme has four objectives:

1. Obtain the ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education)

2. Allow our students to pursue internships and work placements abroad

3. Host foreign European students in our classes

4. Participate in international education partnerships

Objective 1: obtain the ECHE

We have applied for ECHE accreditation from the Erasmus agency in Brussels. This contract form binds us to our commitments towards the European Commission and our future partners.

Any action taken inside the Erasmus Programme is subject to obtaining the ECHE. Therefor, all three following aims objectives will take place from September 2016 if the Erasmus Commission validates our application.

Objective 2: offer work experience opportunities abroad

Objective 3: host foreign students in our educational programs The Erasmus Programme allows students to pursue their education abroad from the second year of undergraduate school or college. Dorian is well equipped and ready to host European students in its STS section and deliver them the French « BTS » degree. In order to do so, the only requirement for the students is to have the requisite knowledge and skills, as would local students acquire during their first year of higher education. Thus, we would select foreign programs which seem to cover the same basics, and would also participate in this effort by detailing the content of our programs. motivated amongst them to complete a 2-month long work placement abroad in Europe.

Objective 4: participate in international educational partnerships. We would like to implement an international project development. The idea is to team up students in similar domaines from different European schools/universities  around a technical project. Then, either from a collaborative or competitive approach between teams, we would like to allow them to meet with each other in a hosting school/university to evaluate their response to the technical project.
